Mr. John Carter

July 16, 1940 — July 10, 2012

John Smith Carter, 71, passed away July 10, 2012, in Arlington, TX, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Carter was a voracious reader who enjoyed mystery and history novels. Watching any sport was a favorite pastime. John was the "nice guy" who lived by the words "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." His sense of humor and generous spirit showed as a loving husband, wonderful father and family man, and he had a tendency to spoil his family. John graduated from the Detroit School of Business with an accounting degree. He retired from LTV-Lockheed Martin after 25 years of dedicated service as a budget analyst.
John was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James W Carter; and son, Jeffrey. Survivors include: Wife Judy Gietl Carter; Sons, James (Jessica) and John Carter; daughter, Julie Hensley (Scott); daughter-in-law, Sheryl Carter; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; the Gietl family; wonderful neighbors and many friends.
Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at St. Vincent's De Paul Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The March of Dimes Foundation at 6815 Manhattan Blvd. Ste 102 Fort Worth, TX, 76120, or online at www.marchforbabies.org.
