John Reeves

June 17, 1933 — October 22, 2015

John Buford Reeves was born June 17, 1933 in Wolf City, Texas to John and Bertie Reeves. He passed away on October 22, 2015 in Mansfield, Texas.

Buford served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a firefighter for the City of Greenville and master machinist working for Vought Aircraft for 30 years. He was a Past Master of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge #331 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed reading, fishing and watching sports. He also enjoyed working in his yard and loved children and animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son John, brother Earl, sisters Flonell, Alice, Nerine and Dorothy Ruth.

Buford is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Reeves; daughters, Rhonda and husband Freddy Montoya, Karen and husband Robert Sterrett; grandsons, Brett Hooks, Michael Reeves and Taylor Reeves; great grandchildren, Harley, Peytton, Lilly, Madison, Ely, Hayllie and Jacob; nieces, Linda, Vickie and Donna and many other loving family and friends.

The family sends their gratitude to the staff of the Memory Care Unit at The Isle at Watercrest and to Envoy Hospice for their compassion and loving care of Buford. Buford will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer Association or the American Cancer Society.

Graveside Services and interment will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale, Texas. Family Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1:30 P.M Saturday, prior to the service, at the Emerald Hill Funeral Home.
