ARLINGTON -- Johnny Carl Simmons, 78, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014.
Service: 10 a.m. Monday at Korean American First Baptist Church in Arlington. Interment: 2 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale.
Johnny was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Memphis, Texas, and graduated from Edgewood High School. He worked at General Motors for 30 years and served as deacon of Korean American First Baptist Church for 25 years. Married to Ann, his darling wife of 40 years, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved home cooking, football, especially the Cowboys, and most of all, fishing. He was kind and friendly to all and was dearly loved. He will be missed.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Karl Allye Simmons; sisters, Jaunelle and Cherie.
Survivors: Wife, Ann; daughter, Karla Gray and husband, Rick; daughter, Qurisha Hendrickson and husband, Randal; brother, Bobby Simmons and wife, Juanice; grandchildren, Austin, Samantha, Caleb and Luke; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his much-loved dogs, Hank and Ruby.
