ARLINGTON -- After an 89-year preflight check, Joseph Orson Engle, Jr. took flight on June 7, 2015.
Services: Pending at DFW National Cemetery.
Joe was born in 1925 in New Jersey and grew up in Peoria, Illinois. He joined the Army Air Corps, and was assigned the call sign Peter2Zero, which followed him into his profession as a test pilot at LTV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, two sisters and step-son, Larry.
Survivors: Beloved wife, Juanice; daughter, Mary Ann; son, Joseph and wife, Cheryl; step-daughter, Patti and husband, Wylie; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
