Joseph Sitzman

ARLINGTON -- Joseph Michael Sitzman, 45, lost his battle with cancer and was united with the Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Sitzman Children Education Fund at Texas Trust Bank, 1900 Country Club Drive, Mansfield, Texas, 1-800-527-3600.
Joe was born April 19, 1964, in Lafayette, Ind. He was the oldest son of Carolyn and Joe Sitzman. He graduated in 1982 from Bishop Chatard Catholic High School in Indianapolis, Ind. Joe graduated from Purdue University in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He was a member of Triangle Fraternity and played baseball at Purdue.
Joe moved to Arlington in 1986 where he has worked for Lockheed Martin for 23 years. He met his wife in Arlington and they were married for 20 years and have two wonderful children, Joey and Jacky. Joe enjoyed playing softball with friends, coaching his kids in sports and family vacations.
Joe will remain in our hearts and be greatly missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph R. and Hildreth Sitzman.
Survivors: Wife, Julie Henderson Sitzman; 18-year-old son, Joseph Robert; 15-year-old daughter, Jacqueline Renee; his parents, Joseph Edward and Mary Carolyn Sitzman, both from McCordsville, Ind.; brothers and sisters all in Indiana, Beth Burns and husband, Rick Burns, John Sitzman and wife, Amy, Jim Sitzman and wife, Shirley, Kathy Koers and husband, Steve, and Doug Sitzman and wife, Maureen; nieces and nephews, Michael, Robert and Abby Burns, Nathan and Emily Sitzman, Claire and Nicholas Sitzman, Sam and Molly Koers, and Ben and Daniel Sitzman.
