Joyce Faye Carter, 78, passed away in her home on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Pastor Dennis Erwin will be officiating. Joyce was born on February 7, 1936, to Elmer and Ruby (Lane) Garrison in Blooming Grove, Texas. She grew up in Ennis, Texas. On February 14, 1953, she married Kenneth Wade Carter, and they made their home in Arlington, Texas.
She was a member of the Retta Baptist Church in Rendon, Texas, and was a proud member of the North Texas Western Swing Music Society of the Southwest and The Ladies Auxillary VFW. She enjoyed Texas Western Swing music, crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Carter; son and daughter-in-law; Monte and Susan Carter; son; Randy Carter; daughter and son-in-law; Lori Carter-Tracy and Scott Tracy; grandchildren; Monica Carter Sudbury and John Sudbury; Adam and Melissa Carter; Rachel Tracy and Caitlin Tracy; great-grandchildren; John Carter Sudbury, Lane Garrison Sudbury and Dylan Duvall Carter; sister; Ernestine Duke; mother-in-law; Ruthie Carter Wilhite; along with numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Elmer and Ruby Garrison, brothers; Robert Lane Garrison and Carl Dean Garrison, sisters; Elmerene Hinkle, Dorothy Arlea Spicer, and Lonita Nell Morehead.
