Judy Lynne Harrod Smith, 74, passed away on September 2, 2020 at Huguley Hospice House in Burleson, Texas. She was born on December 2, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to Marvin and Lota Harrod
Judy grew up in Arlington, Texas. She ended life the way she began it, as a fighter. She endured health challenges from birth forward and fought them all with a fire only she possessed. She graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas in 1964. She had dreams of becoming a fashion designer. She amassed a love for all things creative in her life. She particularly enjoyed, sewing, painting, drawing and spending time with her family both immediate and extended.
Judy married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Robert William Smith Jr. on October 3, 1963 in Fort Polk, Louisiana. They were happily married for 56 years. Judy was a long-time member of Tate Springs Baptist Church in Arlington, TX.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Lota Gandy her Father, Marvin Harrod, her sister Julia Ann and her brother Edward Glenn. Her nieces Lisa Walker-Claunch and Becky Harrod-Lewis and her great-granddaughter Kennedy Hazel Headland.
Judy is survived by her spouse Robert Smith Jr. of Arlington, TX ; her daughter Robyn Smith Crabtree of Crowley, TX , her sons Ricky Smith(his wife Christi) of Arlington, TX and David Smith(his wife Angela ) of Burleson, TX her brother Bobby Dean Harrod of Temple TX, and her sisters Arlyne Harrod-Clements (her husband Royce) of Crowley, TX and Debbie McMullen-Denton of Hurst, TX . Her grandchildren Cara, Chelsea, Clint, Bailey, Logan, Cordelia, Serenity, and Killian; her great-grandchildren Kayden, Everly and Katherine; and her nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd. Kennedale, TX. from 6:00pm-8:00pm on September 8, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home at 11:00 am on September 9, 2020. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial park
