Arlington, TX. On May 29, 2012, Julie "Jules" Marie Raiman was at peace after a life long battle with cystic fibrosis and numerous complications. Julie fought a long, hard and courageous fight against this dreadful disease. She was and is an inspiration to all who knew her.
Services will be Saturday, June 2nd at Emerald Hills Funeral Home at 500 Sublett Rd, Kennedale, Texas. We will receive family and friends from 9-11 with the funeral beginning at 11. This is the cemetery Julie picked out her final resting place over 12 years ago just before she was diagnosed with CF. We took rides and this was on one of her favorite routes.
Julie was an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Many who have seen her artwork have commented what a phenomenal artist she was. Her attention to detail drew you into her anime inspired pictures and designs. In addition to the art, Julie loved to write. She has so many stories in so many journals that she had throughout the house. She was never without a pad or pen. Julie loved watching the cooking channel and enjoyed planning meals and cooking when she felt up to it. She achieved her goal of finishing school, having to settle for her GED, but she passed those exit TAKS. She was very proud of that accomplishment. She could not wait until she was strong enough to play her saxophone again. Most of all, she was very proud of her sister, Kim, with whom she spent much time with. Her most constant companion the last 12 years was her cat, Maxwell, who was always with her as much as he could be.
As a family, we would like to thank Cook Children's Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Baylor Liver Institute and Texas Health Harris Methodist for their care, friendship and compassion. Donations can be made to either of these institutions. Also, please consider being an organ donor.
Julie is survived by her parents and sister, Diane, Peter and Kim of Arlington, TX; Grandparents, Frances and Russell Winter of Pearce, AZ; Aunts, Sara and Susan both of Arlington, TX; Aunt Dale and John Marshall of Gilbert, AZ; Uncle Daniel and Kris of Marietta, GA; Uncle Mark and Dee Dee of Gilbert, AZ; special Aunt Tracy Schaeffer of Arlington, TX; cousins and of course, her beloved cat, Maxwell Thomas.
