Keegan Maddox Uranga, a name etched in the hearts of those who knew him, bid farewell to this world July 30, 2024. Keegan brought light and love wherever he went until his last breath.
Keegan's presence was a beacon of kindness and love. He was born to Nicole Cook and Blake Uranga on February 7, 2004 in Arlington, TX. At age three, Keegan gained an additional dad, Shane Cook who lovingly raised him alongside Nicole. He is also survived by his little brother Konnor Cook who only knows life with Bubba down the hall. He leaves behind grandparents, Jimmy Boggess and Kathy Garcia and great-grandparents, CB and Marie Boggess and great-grandmother Mary Pruitt. Keegan shared a unique and personal relationship with each and every person in his vast blended family that included many aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings and his honorary grandparents Ray and Marion Chapa. Keegan was proud of his non conventional yet unconditional loving family.
His memories paint a picture of a soul who embraced life's beauty in its entirety. Keegan's voracious appetite for reading anything he could get his hands on, coupled with his diverse music collection, showcased his deep appreciation for the arts. He found joy in sharing his newfound musical treasures, even if they hailed from decades past.
Keegan's empathetic and accepting nature touched the lives of all who crossed his path. He stood as a pillar of support, ensuring no one ever felt left out or undervalued. Outspoken, brave, open-minded, and forgiving, Keegan embodied the essence of empathy and understanding. His hugs were known to be the warmest precisely when they were needed the most, offering solace without uttering a single word.
In the realm of hobbies and interests, Keegan's love for the arts shone brightly. From strumming his guitar to gracing the stage in multiple musical theater productions during high school, he exuded talent and passion. After being introduced to rock climbing, it quickly became part of his every day life always challenging himself to a new route at the facility. Even trying wakeboarding once revealed his innate ability to thrive in new endeavors with ease.
Keegan's proudest accomplishment was his unapologetically authentic self. He never bowed to societal pressures and remained true to his beliefs. His innate kindness extended beyond his immediate circle, as he was always the first to lend a hand to a stranger in need, recognizing the importance of compassion in a world that often forgets.
Friends and family will gather to honor Keegan's memory at the Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Kennedale, TX. A visitation will take place on August 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Keegan Maddox Uranga's legacy of love, acceptance, and authenticity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will also live on through his selfless organ donation providing life saving organs to at least 4 recipients. We find peace knowing he has been reunited with his Nana, Cindy Boggess in heaven.
