ARLINGTON -- La Verne Ruth Schubert Cude, 70, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4400 W. Arkansas Lane, Arlington. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation; 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
La Verne was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Kingsville to Alvin and Alvina Schubert. She was a high school cheerleader, sang in her church and high school choirs, and was active in the Walther League of the Lutheran Church. She married Robert Cude of Corpus Christi on Aug. 31, 1956. La Verne was active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority all her adult life. She cherished her years as a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and served on several congregational boards.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Alvin and Alvina Schubert; brother, Milburn and his wife, Virginia Schubert; brother, Edward Schubert; and sister, Bernice Schubert.
Survivors: Her loving husband of 51 years, Bob Cude; daughters, Jeanne and David Gorman of Benbrook and Susan and David Herrick of Mansfield; son, James and Christine Cude of Keller; grandchildren, Jessica, Julie, Scott, Lauren and A.J.; great-granddaughter, Jaylin; brother, Alvin and Margaret Schubert of Lantana; sister-in-law, Elsie Schubert of Kingsville; and a host of other family and friends.
