Laverne White, born in July 1953 to Richard & Estelle Westbrook, passed away peacefully into Heaven on August 10, 2014.
Laverne Westbrook White met her husband, Thomas G. White during her teenage years. Four years later, right out of high school the two married and began a love that lasted 41 years. Laverne & Tommy grew together as a family and she became a loving wife and mother, and later a proud Nana. The marriage brought joy and two wonderful children to their lives.
Laverne loved watching murder mysteries and game shows. She enjoyed playing POGO on the computer. Her children remember a very giving woman, one who wouldn’t turn anyone away who was in need of help or a place to stay. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Laverne also never turned down the opportunity to spend a night at the bingo hall with friends. In turn when Laverne needed anything, her son-in-law was always there for her and she depended on him daily. He is grateful to have had the chance to help a woman who gave so much of herself to others. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Laverne has reunited in Heaven with her husband of 41 years, Thomas G White, her parents; three brothers, Gene, Jerry & Stanley Westbrook and sister Louise Estes.
Those left to cherish her memory include; daughter Mechelle Davis & husband Corey, son, Kenneth White and wife Tina, siblings, Floyd Westbrook, Marie Baldree, Charlotte Gorman and Mary Templin, grandchildren, Stephen, Brandon, Seth, Samantha, McKenzee, Haylee, Kason & Dalton, along with may extended family and dear friends.
