James Lee Corbitt, 71, of Burleson, Texas passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012. He was born on February 20, 1941 to Lonnie and Virginia Corbitt in Cleburne, TX. Jim graduated from Cleburne High School and later met and married Bertha in Fort Worth on September 2, 1975 and together they shared a love that was truly blessed. He served in the army for three years. James was a lifelong resident of Burleson, employed by Winn Dixie for 10 years and a member of a Pentecostal church. Traveling and camping and anything outdoors were his favorite pastimes. James was a musician playing the guitar and trumpet. His family remembers him as being loving, funny and caring. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jim loved being outside riding his tractor, and giving rides to the grandkids, and tending to the animals. His greatest passion in life were his grandchildren. He found joy in taking care of his great nephew, Darrell Jr. aka Lil Red. James enjoyed his family bringing his dog Penny to visit in his final days. He loved Zola's singing and Bessie's beans and cornbread, he also loved all the snacks his wife would bring him. Even in the final days he would laugh and cut up.
Those left to remember James include his loving wife, Bertha; sons Robert Davis, and Gary Corbitt; daughters, Davida McDougal, and Bonnie Lannigan; grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Michael Davis, James Lannigan, April Lannigan; great granddaughter, Jade Davis.
