Linda Kay Harris, 59, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2010.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Highpoint Church, 2500 E. Arbrook Blvd., Arlington. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to SafeHaven of Tarrant County, www.safehaventc.org, in Kay's honor.
Kay was a music teacher for over 30 years. It was said that other than her family, music was her life. She took in all the wonders of life, wrapped them in a colorful package and gave it to us. She was at her best seeing new life through her granddaughter, Kamryn's, eyes. She enjoyed traveling and taking vacations even if she was alone.
Survivors: Daughter, Laura and husband, Josh Petty; her precious granddaughter, Kamryn Petty; brothers, James Powell, Jack Powell, David Newsome, Lonnie Newsome and Scott Newsome; and a host of other family and friends.
