Lou Ellen Ragan, 87, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at a local hospital.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lou was born March 22, 1923, in Petrolia to Ludie and Jack Hipp. She graduated from Vernon High School in 1942. In 1943 she married J.D. Ragan during a leave from World War II. J.D. preceded Lou in death in 1984. Lou retired after 20 years from Samsills Plastic Company. She made her home in Arlington and Fort Worth. Lou was a sweet and beautiful woman who was loved by everyone who knew her.
Survivors: Son, Jimmy Ragan and his wife, Maria; grandson, Jeremy Ragan and his wife, Linda Bernstein; nieces, Nita Caster, Cindy Weatherford and Melinda Reed; and great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews whom she treated like grandchildren.
