Margie Annie Fletcher Pace was born on June 14, 1944, in Hunt County. She was the third youngest of 13 siblings. Being family oriented was instilled in her from a young age.
She married Barney Pace in December of 1962, and she gave birth to her daughter Lorraine in 1964, and her son Dawayne in 1965. Her children were her whole life. She made sure they always had what they needed, and they were taken care of. Her family grew in the mid to late 90’s when her three grand babies Danielle, Victoria and Miah were born, and she found that joy all over again getting to watch them grow up. She never missed a grandparent’s day in elementary school or a softball game in high school.
She loved to cook meals for her family, and she made the most delicious pies. She shared her recipes with us all and they have become meals we cook for our families now. Her chicken n dumplings, chocolate pie, and banana pudding are some of our favorites to recreate. Sunday morning breakfast was a highlight in her week. She would take us out to Denny’s, or we would cook breakfast at her house. Either way, it was full of love, laughter, and conversation. She loved watching old western tv and game shows.
Margie had the opportunity to blossom again in 2021 when her great-grandson Denver was born. She loved him more than she could have ever put in words. He was her baby, and it was the sweetest thing to witness. They would watch Frazier every night whilst she rocked him to sleep.
She leaves behind her son, Dawayne; her son-in-law, Charlie; her granddaughters, Danielle and husband Christian, Victoria and Fiancé Sergio, and Miah; and her great grandson Denver. As well as four sisters, Mary Lou, Vereana, Maggie, and Jeannette; one brother, Joe and wife Marie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She passed peacefully at home with Dawayne, Miah, and Kelly at her side.
Margie was the sweetest and most caring woman you could meet. She always opened her house to anyone who needed help and she made everyone feel welcome around her. We will miss her sweet soul every day.
