Marion Eva (Neal) Templin, age 96, of Kennedale, TX, entered into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 at Mansfield Methodist Hospital, in Mansfield, TX.
Marion was born in Britton, Texas to Raymond and Viola (Raines) Neal on January 20, 1928. Marion graduated from Mansfield High School in 1945, then married her handsome Navy-Man a year later, L.C. (Lloyd Charles) Templin on April 6th, 1946. During their 47 years of marriage, they enjoyed taking trips to Lake Whitney, camping and sleeping under the stars, and taking long Sunday drives in the country, with their most memorable trip being a trip to Hawaii with the radio station, WBAP. L.C. remained the love of her life to her very last day on earth before he passed away from cancer in 1992.
Marion was passionate about many things, but nothing was more important to her than sharing her Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and her love of her family and friends.
Marion and L.C. had a beautiful daughter, Rhonda, whom Marion doted on, and although Rhonda was an only child you would never know it by the number of girls that were constantly at her home. Marion also served at Rhonda’s school in the PTA, as a Girl Scout Leader, and the Miss Kennedale Beauty Pageants.
During her early years, Marion worked in cosmetics at Cox’s Department Store in Downtown Fort Worth followed by her next occupation at Sampsill Brother Plastic Company where she worked before giving up her career to become a full-time MeMa to her two beautiful granddaughters. Once her youngest granddaughter went to school full-time Marion transitioned back into the workforce where she already spent the majority of her free time, at First Baptist Church Kennedale. She spent 10 years serving as the church secretary and treasurer to three pastors.
Though her work as the church secretary was from 8:00-5:00 she spent the remainder of her time also at the church serving on every committee the Church had including the choir, wedding, budget, kitchen and pulpit committees, Tarrant Baptist Association zone chair, W.M.U. President, Spanish Missions Chair. Marion also taught Sunday School for all ages over 50 years, and went to youth camps in Oklahoma and Louisiana sometimes as a teacher and sometimes as a cook. Marion was a member of First Baptist Church Kennedale for 72 years serving faithfully until health problems kept her from serving.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, friend, and Christian servant, Marion will be truly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy lives on through all the lives she has touched.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Lloyd Charles (L.C.) Templin; Parents Raymond and Viola (Raines) Neal; Sister Dorothy Marie (Neal) McMullen; Brothers Tommy Neal, Jimmy Neal and Jerry Neal; and Special Family Friends since 1969, often referred to as the “6-Pack” Gen Boyd, Dolores Lyon, Sue Winters, Ruby Nell Cooper; and her pets: Dogs Amos, Andy, and Missy, Cat- Kokomo, Fish-Clementine (MeMa wanted to make sure everyone knew that her friends and animals were loved dearly by her too!).
She was survived by her daughter, Rhonda Sue Templin Barnes, and husband of 56 years Hank Barnes; Two grand-daughters: Tiffany (Barnes) Schwind and Husband Patrick Schwind; Courtney (Barnes) McKeown and Husband Brian McKeown; Five Great-Grandchildren: Hillary (Schwind) Pries and Husband Jeremy Pries; Madison (Schwind) Corder and Husband Daniel Corder; Brighan Schwind; Delaney McKeown, and Camden McKeown; Two Great-Great Grandchildren Sawyer Ray Pries and Miles Henry Pries; Special Family-Friend: Ailene Blacklock.
