Mr. Martin Duane West

October 18, 1939 — August 18, 2012

Martin Duane West, 72, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012.
Martin married the love of his life, Irma Livingston, in 1958. Together they have shared laughs, family and friends. With this marriage, they were blessed with three wonderful children. Martin was the most loving husband and father you could ever have had the pleasure of meeting. He later became a very proud grandfather. Mr. West enjoyed spending his time with his family the most. When he did manage upon free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. A lifetime membership to "National Geographic" magazine and a daily routine of reading the Star Telegram kept him well informed. Martin was quite the handyman and able to fix most anything. He also enjoyed a good game of 42, all the other players begged to be his teammate, and none have figured out his strategy yet. Martin retired from the city of Fort Worth after 30 years of dedicated service. He and his family are members of Flamingo Road Church of Christ in Fort Worth.
Those whom he has joined in heaven are his parents, Martin and Viola West; uncle, Richard Dillingham; sisters, Margaret Sliger and Jo Minard; and a son, William West.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irma West; son, Lee Wayne West and wife, Lori; daughter, Lisa Hackney and husband, Harold; daughter-in-law, Brenda West; grandchildren, Alissa McBurney and husband, Marty, and daughter Kennedy, Bradley Martin West, Brent West, Brooks Jones, Jared Duane Hackney, Brady Jones and Haylee West; sisters-in-law, Sarah Tisdale (James), Bobbie Jones (Rodney) and Charlotte Fenton; sister, Linda Pistokache; brother-in-law, Herb Sliger; numerous extended family and friends; and his neighbors.
