Mary Morris

Mary Morris, 68, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at HEB Hospital In Bedford, Texas.  She was born on March 10, 1953 in Montague County, Texas to Jessie and Dorothy Earnhart Atkins.

Mary grew up in Nocona, Texas, moved to Everman, Texas and then moved to Fort Worth, Texas with her husband, Guy, and raised her 2 children there. Her daughter’s best friend, Lori Oliver, grew up across the street from the time her daughter was 7 and they are still best friends today. Mary considered Lori one of her 2nd daughters and couldn’t have loved her more if she would have given birth to her.

Mary started at working at Tandy Craft around 1990 and met one of her best friends and another one of her 2nd daughter’s, Deana Hall in 1991. She also worked at Texas Health Resources with Deana until cancer in 2005 eventually caused her to become disabled and stop working.  Mary was one of the few people that absolutely loved to go to work every day and was very disappointed when she had to quit. She never met a stranger and made many, many friends thru her work that are still very close to her today.

Mary married Guy in 1969 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were happily married for 32 years until Guy passed away in 2001. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, reading and watching TV.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Jessie; mother, Dorothy; brothers, Harvey, Donald, Jessie and Bobby; sisters, Jerelyne and Pat; and son, James.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Anita of North Richland Hills, Texas; sister, Barbara Lewis of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren, Brittany and Joshua; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home at 12:00pm, Saturday, November, 27, 2021. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery.
