Matthew A. Donohue, 88, passed away on 16 October 2021 at HEARTIS in Arlington TX. He was born on 21 October 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to William and Loretta Donohue
Matthew grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in Brooklyn, NY. After high school he
joined the Air Force in 1951 and served for 4 years. He served during the Korean War and was the recipient of National Defense Service Medal/Good Conduct Medal. He was Honorably discharged in 1955, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.
attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering
enjoyed a successful career working for companies including Curtiss-Wright, American Airlines, Airmotive Ireland, Interturbine/Vac-Hyd, AVIALL, GE Aircraft Engines, AOG Tank Tigers, Dee Howard Aircraft and MA Donohue Associates, Inc.
Matthew married Catherine (Kay) in June 1953 in Brooklyn, NY. They were happily married for 55 years. Matthew was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Arlington, TX. Matt enjoyed golfing, fishing, and gardening.
Matthew was preceded in death by his loving wife Catherine (Kay) Donohue, parents William and Loretta Donohue, brother Charles Donohue, sisters Loretta Norris and Marion Dolan and grand-daughter Mallory Kayla Lane.
Matthew is survived by his daughter Christine Marie Titus, his sons Keith M Donohue and Sean A. Donohue; His brothers Jerome (Edith) Donohue, Patrick (Margaret) Donohue, William (Annette) Donohue and Eugene (Arlene) Donohue and sister Margaret Gallo; sisters-in-law Margaret Filand and Elaine Donohue. His grandchildren Christopher Lane, Matthew Lane, Hillary Titus, John Titus, Lori-Anne Donohue, Keith R. Donohue, Conor Donohue, Austin Donohue, Aundie Donohue and Alee Donohue; His great-grandchildren Carter Lane, Olivia Lane, Peri Lane, Ari Lane, Mallory J. Lane, Declan Connell, Alana Donohue, Rafael Donohue and Augustino Donohue and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Memorial Park at 11:00am, October 25, 2021. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Memorial Park at 10:00am, October 25, 2021. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 10:00am, October 25, 2021. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington, TX 76016.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to HEARTIS Arlington, Freedom Hospice, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
