Curtis believed in working hard, helping people, caring for family, and, most of all, serving God. Kinney, as he was known by most of his extended family, grew up during the depression with 8 brothers and sisters, and he went to work to help support his family when he was 14 years old - a pattern he continued even until he neared 80. Curtis became a Christian, when he was 29 and served God for 51 years. He founded and operated Roseberry Construction Company from 1969 to 1987 in Kennedale, Texas, where he resided and was a beloved community member of 45 years. Poppy, as he was called by his grandchildren, used his abilities to help others and to make their lives better - repairing cars, building homes, fixing problems, & even making toy stilts for his grandkids at Christmas.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Walter Franklin & Odie Vernon (Hart) Roseberry; his sons Curtis Wayne & Karl Dwain; & his sisters LaRue Burleson, Elsie Fuller, & Dorothy Mayfield.
