Ms. M Crews

September 6, 1939 — April 28, 2014

Shirley Mae Crews (Ranneger) was born on September 6, 1939, to Charles J. & Phyllis M. Ranneger (Giacobetti) in Pittsburg, Kansas, and passed away on April 28, 2014 in Arlington, Texas. Shirley was half-German from her father's side and half-Italian from her mother's side. Shirley was very proud of her mixed heritage, and enjoyed sharing stories about her family with others.
Throughout her career she worked as a secretary. Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, whether she was gardening, sun-bathing, or swimming in the pool. She loved to be surrounded by beautiful things and was always decorating her home. Shirley enjoyed dressing to a "T" at all times, and throughout her life always appeared much younger than her actual age.
Shirley was very crafty and enjoying sewing and crocheting dolls, afghans, and whatever her family requested. She also liked to experiment in the kitchen. Some would fondly remember her as a "creative" cook, but she could make mean lasagna! She loved anything Italian, and one of her favorite restaurants was Olive Garden. She also was a pumpkin bread and homemade roll expert, and made the best stuffing in the world!
Shirley enjoyed many other hobbies, like reading and dancing. She could really cut a rug! In her earlier years, Shirley enjoyed participating in quick draw competitions, and won many trophies and titles for her fast draw. Shirley always had a love for shopping, but later in life she enjoyed shopping from the comforts of home with the help of the QVC channel. You could bet that if there was a kitchen, patio, or Christmas show on QVC, Shirley was sure to be tuned in.
Shirley also had love for all animals, but was especially fond of cats. She was a very caring and kind woman to all she met, and her family meant the world to her. She had the biggest heart, and there was nothing that she would not do for her family; she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her family will miss her greatly.

Those she will join in Heaven include her parents, Charles J. Ranneger and Phyllis M. Cardwell, and her son, Charles Grady Crews.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sheryl Rush with husband Dennis, and Kelli Crews; her sister Roberta Wilson, and her grandchildren, Heather Rush-Chesnut with husband Paul, and her grandson Heath Rush, her great grandchildren, Tristan Rush-Chesnut, Trenton Rush-Chesnut, and Treyton Rush-Chesnut.
