Michael Preston Miller, 82, passed away on April 27, 2024 at his home in Arlington, TX. He was born on May 30th, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Eunice Miller.
Michael grew up in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, TX in 1959. After high school, he moved to Chicago and began working various jobs until beginning work in construction at Perma Line Corporation. Michael began his career there as a general laborer and after 25 years in many roles, he elevated to President of the company. After Perma Line, he moved on to Mica Corporation where he served in a management role for 19 years. Michael retired until he became a mentor and advisor to his son’s business Platinum Press, Inc. where he served for 15 years. After a successful working career in construction and manufacturing, he retired in 2020.
Michael married Janice Kiraly in 1984 in Chicago, IL. They were happily married for 40 years. He was well traveled, seeing much of the world with his wife, friends, and family. He particularly enjoyed Las Vegas, New York, and cruising. He was thrilled with a special 70th birthday trip to the Kentucky Derby and an 80th birthday celebration in Las Vegas with lots of family members. He was very devoted to spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan – pros and school sports involving Grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother Eunice and brother Wayne.
Michael is survived by his spouse Janice of Arlington, TX; his son Michael (Sheri) Miller of Alvarado, TX; Deborah (Danny) Cochran of Muenster, TX; Natalie Miller of Arlington, TX; Thomas (Dawn) Miller of Mansfield, TX; 30 Grandchildren; 33 Great-Grandchildren; Brother/Sister-in-Law Dennis and Julie Kiraly of Naperville, IL; 7Nieces; 7 Nephews; and fur babies Rambo, Rascal, and Frankie.
A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX 76060 between 4:00pm-7:00pm on May 2nd, 2024. A funeral mass will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76013 at 11:00am, May 3rd, 2024. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery. A celebration of life reception will be held at Walnut Creek Country Club, 1151 Country Club Dr., Mansfield, TX 76063 from 2:00pm-5:00pm following the burial.
