Michael "BIG Scott" Sherrill, 66, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2025 in the arms of his loving wife. Born on April 6, 1958, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend who left a lasting impact on all who knew him. A master mechanic by profession, Scott's expertise was not just his career but his passion. He found joy in the intricacies of machines and was always eager to share his knowledge with others, ensuring their safety and comfort through his meticulous work. He was known in his community for his golden heart and his readiness to help anyone in need, ensuring their cars were in perfect condition before they hit the road.
Scott's hobbies were as robust and varied as his personality. An avid outdoors man, he relished in fishing and hunting, often sharing these experiences with friends and family. His love for car restoration allowed him to breathe new life into old treasures, a testament to his ability to see the potential in the forgotten. Family gatherings were often filled with the roar of a Harley, a sound that brought him immense joy. He's known for his affection and passion for animals, especially dogs, and observing the birds at his feeders.Family was the cornerstone of Scott's life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori; sons, Chris (Monica) Sherrill, Dylan Sherrill, Michael (Mikel) Spencer; and daughter, Ashley (Chris) Ayers. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Elle (Justin), Jonathan, Dominic, Logan, Harper, and great-grandchild, Houston. He also leaves behind his father, Williard (Mary) Sherrill; brothers, Trent (Mary) Sherrill, Greg (Julie) Sherrill; sister, Shelley (David) Graves; Aunt Mae McCauley; Uncle Mike Crow; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Sherrill, and brother, Stephen Sherrill.
Known as a gentle giant with a teddy bear heart, his presence was a source of strength and love. Scott instilled his character and morals into his children, a legacy that will endure through generations. A service to honor Scott’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, TX at 2 p.m. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the deep bonds of family, and he will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
