MANSFIELD -- Michael Patrick Young, 58, of Mansfield passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior after a lengthy and courageous battle with colon cancer at a hospital in Dallas.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Mansfield with a 9:00 AM visitation prior to the service. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

Mike was born January 30, 1958 to Col. Clyde (deceased) and Angelyn Young. The family moved with the military and he traveled to many places around the world before the family settled in Huntsville., Ala. He lived his life with high spiritual standards and was a great example to his family and friends. Gifted in sports, he excelled in golf and earned a golf scholarship to the University of Northern Alabama, where he graduated in 1980. His love for golf allowed him to play on many beautiful and challenging courses around the country, including the highlight of attending the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA. Mike also enjoyed bass-fishing, Texas A&M sports and spending time with his family.
Mr. Young was a sharp, gifted and professional businessman, getting his start with Johnson & Johnson and moved to Dallas, TX in 1982, where he met the love of his life, Linda Kay Bareither Young. They were married in 1985 and moved with his company to St. Louis, MO before returning to settle in Mansfield. He left Johnson & Johnson for more exciting opportunities in sales and marketing where he most recently was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Ranir, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI. Mike played a key part in the company's growth over a ten year period and considered many within the company as family.
Survivors: His loving wife, Mrs. Linda Young; mother, Mrs. Angelyn Young; children, Mr. Brian Young of Houston, Ms. Brooke Young of College Station; sister, Mrs. Karen (Greg) Miller and her family; sister-in-law, Mrs. Julie (Lynn) Schilling and family; brothers-in-law, Mr. Terry (Theresa) Bareither and family, and Major Van (Joan) Bareither, USAF ret. and family.
