Teodor Mihailescu, 79, of Arlington passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 after a long and brave battle with lung cancer.
He was born in March 1934, in Bucharest, Romania and is the youngest child of Mircea and Florica Mihailescu. He loved fishing, cross country, boxing, soccer, swimming, doing crossword puzzles and telling jokes. He loved classical music, playing the piano, reading novels and was skilled at art. He was in the medical profession for over 36 years as an RN and later as an inspector for the health department. He was a constantly source of knowledge and relief. Teodor is preceded in death by his parents, Mircea and Florica and his sister, Lidia Vanghele. Teodor was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Elena Mihailescu; his daughter Roxana Kann and husband Peter Kann; his son Andrei Mihailescu and wife Roxana Mihailescu; his daughter Margaret Mihailescu; and his granddaughters Diana Catuneanu and Alexandra Mihailescu.
Teodor was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
