ARLINGTON -- Milton Maurice Singleton, 87, of Arlington passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 8, 2016.
Service: 1 p.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Memorials: Donations may be made to the Tarrant County Food Bank or a charity of your choice in Milton's name.
Milton was born in Venus to Floyd Vivan Singleton and Josephine Eugenia Huey on Oct. 28, 1928. He attended Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth and upon graduation served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the Signal Corps. Later, Milton met and married Martha Louise Croft in November 1952. While working for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. in Fort Worth, he attended and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1959 with a degree in business.
Milton had a long career in finance working later for Yarbrough Manufacturing, Inc. of Arlington and the National Cutting Horse Association before retiring in 2000. Milton and Martha were active square dancers having been members of the Circle 8 and Beachcombers Square Dance clubs for many years. Milton donated countless hours managing SwingTime Center's (Casul) finances over the years. He was a Mason for 60-plus years, and an avid reader of histories, biographies and English detective novels.
Milton was most proud of his grandchildren and often spoke of what wonderful, interesting people they had become. He was and will continue to be quiet strength of the family.
Milton was preceded in passing by his lovely wife, Martha.
