ARLINGTON -- Nacinda Smith Braly, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2007, in Arlington.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. She was born June 16, 1914, to the Rev. R.E. and Mary McDaniel in Groesbeck. She married G.C. Smith in Gladewater in 1934. After her husband's death Nacinda completed his term as constable of Gregg County. She and her daughters moved to Fort Worth in 1949, where she lived and worked as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was most proud of her children and grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. She was a born-again Christian and member of Word of Life Mansfield, where she belonged to the Silver Eagles Club. She was loved very much and will be missed by many.
Survivors: Daughters, Leaquita Worthey and Mary J. and Ray Lankford; grandchildren, Scarlett and Steve Prater, Ray John Lankford, Fred Worthey; great-grandchildren, Austin Prater, Barrett Prater, Ivyann Leaquita Lankford and Justin Worthey; sister, Patrica Spurgeon; and a host of other family and friends.
