Dr N. Kermit Olson passed peacefully at his home on May 17, 2024. He was born in Chicago, IL to Kermit and Ruth Olson.
Kermit grew up in River Forrest, IL, graduated from Oak Park-River Forest
High School and then attended and graduated from Stanford University. He went to Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Olson continued his medical studies at UT Southwestern in Dallas becoming an Internal Medicine physician with a specialty in Nephrology. He was on the staff at John Peter Smith hospital for 50 years.
Kermit married Antonia Lewis in 1962. They were happily married for 32 years. They joined Trinity United Methodist Church in 1970 and were active members.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Toni. Kermit and Toni had three children: Erik Olson, Ainslee Olson Brillo (spouse John, and children Ernie, Eleanor and Charles), and Jon Olson.
Kermit is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joyce; his sister Anita Olson MacDonald (spouse Bob), his brother Don (wife Beth), and his step mother, Nell Olson.
A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2024 at 1pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 W Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX. Friends attending are invited to greet the family in the Great Hall and have refreshments after the service.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Trinity Music Ministry, Bible Study Fellowship (BSFInternational/support) or a charity of your choice.
