Pauline Slack born March 9, 1923 in Fort Worth, Texas to Thomas and Fannie Bailey passed away on March 21, 2013 at the age of 90. Pauline marriage to her husband Melford Slack spanned 39 years until his passing. During the marriage they raised two sons. She thrived in her role as a mother and later a grandmother. Her children came first and she wasn't afraid to let you know it. Pauline was often outspoken and her temper seemed too large for such a small woman. Before leaving home she made sure she was dressed well and accessorized with hair and makeup, always the put together lady. Pauline worked in her garden and enjoyed cooking for her family and the children and grandchildren remember fondly "hockey pucks" commonly known as biscuits being they all enjoyed eating. She worked for Niver Western Wear for 25 years where she was a seamstress making jeans and pantsuits. Pauline also enjoyed fishing and hunting deer and dove with her husband. Although the only thing she ever really killed was time, being outside suited her just fine.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and her husband Melford.
Those left to remember her include: sons; Dan and wife Janie Slack, Glenn and wife Peggy Slack; grandson, Rick and wife Deborah Slack, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001.
