Qualla Dillon

December 16, 1945 — September 16, 2015

Qualla Faye Hines Fenn Dillon, 69, Granbury Texas, September 16 2015. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel located in Kennedale. Qualla was born on December 16, 1945, Cleburne Texas to Johnny and Willie Hines. She was raised in Forest Hills area of Fort Worth Texas with her siblings, James Alvin, Martha Roselle, Gracie, Doug and Evelyn.

Qualla married at the young age of 15 to Walter Gene Fenn of Fort Worth Texas.  Together they had 3 sons, Johnny, Joseph and Jerry.  After Gene’s death, she remarried to Kenneth Dillon of Granbury, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter Gene, her son Johnny, her brother Doug and sister Roselle, all of Fort Worth Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dillon; sons, Joseph Fenn and wife, Beverly, of Littleton, Colorado and Jerry Fenn and wife, Robin, daughter Abigail of Virginia Beach, Virginia; step-daughter, Sarah Dillon Cates and husband, Beau, and children, Braden and Bailey; step-son, Matt Dillon; grand-daughter April Sisk; 3 other step-children; and 15 step-grandchildren.

Qualla worked most of her professional life as a home health nurse and caregiver.  Qualla’s proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, her close extended family, both related and church-based, and her service as a pastor’s wife and Sunday school teacher.  (Although she might sight her extensive lighthouse or global thimble collections as her chief accomplishments)

As a pastor’s wife, when the church needed someone to play piano during service, Qualla taught herself to read music and play piano.  Qualla often said her ability to play was a gift from God because she could only play bible hymns, which she did beautifully 3 services each week for 5 years.
