Ralph Urlage

December 28, 1929 — June 27, 2019

Richland Hills

Ralph Herman Urlage passed away peacefully in Ft Worth, TX, on June 27, 2019.  He was born in 1929 in Norwood, Ohio, to Rose and Charles Urlage.  Ralph served in the Navy and Air Force, spending over 20 years serving our country, having been stationed in Spain, Germany and Thailand.  After leaving the service, Ralph went on to hold engineering roles at LTV and Lockheed Martin as a second career.

Ralph is survived by his wife Sylvia; his son Jon and his wife Thelma; his daughter Leslie; his youngest daughter Laurie and her husband John, and by his grandchildren Lauren, Ava, Miguel and Nicco.

Ralph was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his love of story-telling and all things outdoors.  Ralph shared his love of camping, hiking and fishing with his family, passing on how to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of the outdoors.  During weekends at home, if he wasn’t working on a home project, he could be found on a long family bike ride, playing family tennis, or attending one of his children’s sporting activities, which included football, softball, band and dance.  Ralph never missed an opportunity to lend his support.

In his later years, Ralph developed a love for the game of golf while spending many weekends at his favorite hideaway in Lake Whitney.  It was at Lake Whitney that Ralph and Sylvia were able to continue to pass on their love of the outdoors and nature to their grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, Texas.   In lieu of flowers, Ralph expressed his wish that you please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in honor of his son, David.
