Ray Stafford Sr., 85, passed away on December 6, 2024, at Community Healthcare of Texas in Fort Worth, TX. He was born on March 20, 1939, in Fort Worth, TX to Willis “Tobe” Wesley Sr and Elua Beatrice (Wingo) Stafford.
Ray grew up in Fort Worth. He graduated from Green B Trimble Tech High in Fort Worth in 1957. He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos TX where he received an educational degree.
Ray worked for many companies over the course of his life. He was a very gifted carpenter and builder of many homes.
After High School he married Patsy in Fort Worth, Texas. They were married for 62 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing cards, Farkle and dominoes. He also received a craftsmanship award from Mechanics Illustrated.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife- Patsy, parents- Willis “Tobe” and Eula, sisters – Ruby Pruitt, Oleta Harkcom, Helen Whitten, Faye Williams, Son in Law- Jeff Thomas and granddaughter – Bianca Carrington.
Ray is survived by his daughters; Teresa Carpenter (Don) of Fort Worth, Joy Lee Gray (Keith) of Haslet, and his son – Ray Stafford, Jr. (Christine) of Kennedale, his brother Willis Wesley “Sonny” Stafford, Jr. (Wilma) of Fort Worth. TX; his grandchildren Jarad Thomas (Brandie), Julie McCaslin (Mike), Jessica Watson (Robert), William Carpenter (Cassie), Crystal Wise (Jay), Homer Sendejas (Pam), Amanda Sendejas, Austin Carrington, Olivia Trammell (Jace), Lili Stafford, Rachel Stafford, Katelynn Stafford; his great-grandchildren Kelsie Thomas(Kyle), Clayton Thomas, Abigail McCaslin, Zooey Watson, Quinn Carpenter, Ryan Carpenter, Charlie Wise, Birdie Wise, Sean Sendejas, Bruce Sendejas, Luca Sendejas, Hollis Carrington, Joelle Trammell; great-great grandchildren Ava Richardson, Addison Eisenmann, River Eisenmann, Walker Eisenmann, Logan Ray Eisenmann, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home 500 Kennedale Sublett Road at 10:00am on Friday December 13,2024 with a visitation held on Thursday December 12th at the chapel at 5:00pm-7:00pm. The Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Community Healthcare of Texas, 301 Medpark Circle Burleson, Texas 76028.
