EAST BERNARD -- Raymond Ted Miller, 56, of East Bernard passed away in a traffic accident outside of Houston on April 2, 2015.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday in Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

Ted was born on March 29, 1959 in Fort Worth, where he grew up and was active in debate and Boy Scouts. He earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1974 and graduated from OD Wyatt High School in 1977. He graudated with honors from Howard Payne University in 1981 earning a degree in political science. Ted then further pursued his education by attending Baylor University and graduating with his master of arts in social studies in 1983.
He worked for a number of service oriented positions throughout his career, including being a public information officer for several school districts and numerous stints at non profits. He also served as an education minister for several churches before becoming a special education teacher in 2007, earning more than 70 hours toward a master of divinity degree. Ted cared deeply for people that were hurting and mentored many people going through recovery and addictions, but considered his greatest accomplishment to be his three sons, whom he loved dearly.
Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Carol Miller.
Survivors: He is survived by his sons, Stephen Miller of Houston, Andrew Miller of Lubbock, Philip Miller of Friendswood; father, Donald Raymond Miller of Alvarado and his sister, Tonie Auer of Denton.
