Warren L. Farr, 89, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to his Lord Jesus on November 12, 2024.
Warren served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated from West Virginia State College, West Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanic Arts and went on to acquire his Masters of Arts Degree in Education and Human Development from George Washington University, Washington, DC. Warren also attended University of Maryland, Bowie State University in Maryland; Howard University School of Divinity and Washington Baptist Seminary both in Washington, DC.
Warren diligently served as an educator for children and adults in the public school system for Saint Mary’s County, Maryland, Washington, DC and Prince George’s County Public Schools, Maryland. He retired in 2004 after 44 years of service. Warren was also a Mason in the Prince Hall Lodge, Washington, DC.
Warren loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was called and sent by God to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He served at Emmanuel Baptist Church; Mount Sinai Baptist Church, both in Washington, DC; Mount Ennon Baptist Church, Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, First New Horizon and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, in Maryland. After relocating to Texas, he culminated his service at Bethlehem Baptist Church, which included an assignment to Berea Baptist Church, in Texas. As a faithful servant, Warren served the Lord in many capacities to include: Associate Minister, Youth Minister, Assistant to the Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Interim Pastor, Pastoral Care Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and facilitator of Christian Education courses. He also was a volunteer Chaplain at the Methodist Mansfield Hospital.
His favorite scripture was 2 Peter 3:18: “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever”.
Warren is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services: Viewing will be from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with the Homegoing service immediately following on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Both services will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1188 West Broad Street, Mansfield, Texas 76063.
