Rev. Ahlert Strand

Rev. Ahlert J.C. Strand, 87, was called home on November 16, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Mansfield. Interment will directly follow funeral services at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 10: 00 AM until time of service at the church.
Rev. Ahlert J.C. Strand was born on April 8, 1928 to Rev. Ahlert and Clara Strand in New Rockford, North Dakota and grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. He married Dorothy Margaret Brotherton on July 21, 1950. Ahlert attended Springfield Seminary in Springfield, Illinois and was ordained as a pastor in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. He served congregations in Texas, Minnesota, Illinois and Arkansas. Ahlert’s ministry spanned 33 years. He retired to Dallas, Texas in 1990 and continued to serve vacancies in the Dallas area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ove Strand; and grandson, Rev. Jonathan Strand.
Ahlert is survived by his wife, Dorothy Strand; children, Rev. Ahlert Strand Jr. and his wife, Dianne, Rev. Paul Strand and his wife Connie, Mark Strand and his wife, Debbie, Rebecca Seiler and her husband, Dr. Gary Seiler, and Timothy Strand and his wife, Dolly; daughter in-law, Connie Strand; sisters, Clara Schiemann and Lenore Else; brother, Dr. John Strand; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
