Rickey Carter passed away om August 11,2024 at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, Texas. Rickey was born on April 1,1958 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joe and Mae Westbrook where Rickey grew up in Fort Worth where he attended school and received his GED.
After working some odd jobs Rickey went into the Army where he served until Rickey was medically discharged. Upon leaving the military he went to driving an 18-wheeler where he was able to start his own trucking company D.D.C Trucking. Rickey also became a broker at the Fort Worth stack yards.
Rickey married Velma (Rose) in 2023 at the Cleburne courthouse and lived happily married for one and a half years.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents Joe & Mae Carter, Sisters: Irene. Lorrian Aileane, Glenda, Annie, Nannie, Brothers; Joe Jr., Floyd, William.
Rickey is survived by his wife Velma (Rose) of Cleburne, Texas. Daughter Rachel Meaux (Darrelle), Sons; Donald G. Carter (Crystal), Dustin G. Carter (Raquel) Stepdaughters; Larasha Culpepper, James D. Angela Sistrunk (Kevin), Stepson: James Sistrunk (Chalisa). Brothers: Donald R. Carter, Danny Joe Carter. 16 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Texas Health Southwest ICU unit.
