Robert Eugene “Gene” Miller walked into the loving arms of Jesus on September 26, 2019 after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving wife Sheri and beloved daughter Vivian. He was born December 27, 1930 in West Frankfurt, Illinois to Clyde and Mildred Miller.
He grew up on his family farm in Illinois. After moving to Fort Worth, Texas he attended Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary and became a licensed minister in 1957. He continued his career to become the Tarrant
County Convention Center Assistant Manager where he retired in 1993. Throughout his life he
enjoyed farming, auto mechanics, rebuilding tractors, dancing, singing, attending church and spending time
with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gene and his wife Sheri enjoyed 20 years of retirement adventure traveling the United States and Canada with their travel club, the Lone Star Chapter of
FMCA.
He is preceded in death by parents Clyde Eugene Miller, Mildred Lucille Miller, and brother William Earl
Miller.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheri of 17 years; sister Wilma Pittman of Eldorado, Illinois; brother
Marvin Lee Miller and wife Sherry of Rochester, Illinois.
With loving memories he is survived by his two children Vivian Kay Newman; Kevin Eugene Miller and wife
Pam; step sons Darrell Bowlin and wife Kori, Rick Ford and wife Brandi. Grandchildren Bobby Ray Newman
Jr. and wife Kim, Neysa Diane Richards and husband Rusty, Amanda Leigh Newman, Paige Alexandra White
and husband Alex, and Kolton Miller; step grandchildren Chris Ford and wife April, Rusty Bowlin, Chase Ford
and wife Brie, Robin Bowlin, and Payton Shelton; great grandchildren Ray Tirado, Daniel Ray Longhenry and
Olivia Harper White; step great grandchildren Trenver Ford, Colton Ford and Ellie Ford; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 W. Sublett Road,
Kenedale, Texas 76060.
Funeral: Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10 am, Emerald Hills Funeral Home with
burial to follow at Laural Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76134.
