MANSFIELD -- Robert Joe Ruiz Jr., 74, passed away Monday, June 1, 2008, at a local hospital
Funeral: The family would like friends to join them for a Masonic service at 9 a.m. Friday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: 11 a.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane A. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
Robert Ruiz was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving 10 years. He retired from Winn-Dixie after 38 years of devoted employment as an auditor. Mr. Ruiz was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Deer Creek Masonic Lodge #510 and Everman Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #624.
Survivors: Wife, Brenda Ruiz; sons, Manuel and wife, Mary, of Wyoming, Robert and wife, Pam, of Maryland and Benny and wife, Debbie, of Fort Worth; brothers, Fred Ruiz and wife, Sally, Benny Ruiz and wife, Anita, and Richard Ruiz and wife, Linda, all of Arizona; sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Bill Walker of Azle; sister-in-law, Margie Ruiz of San Diego, Calif.; stepdaughters and spouses, Cindy and Richard Houghton of Colorado and Buffy and Bill Bruskas of Plano; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
