Roberta Kelley

Roberta Faye Kelley was born May 17, 1930. She passed away October 11, 2020. She was 90 years old.

She was born to George Dewey and Lula Brackeen. Roberta married Robert Ray Kelley on July 27, 1947. They were married 60 years before Robert passed on October 11, 2007. They passed on the same date of the year.

She was the best Mama and Memaw in the world. She was a fabulous cook, no one made better pies than hers. She worked hard all of her life and always put her children first. Roberta had quick wit and could be so funny. She loved good gospel music and good fiddle tunes. She loved sweets along with Dr. Pepper, Root Beer or coffee.

Roberta was a member of Trentman Avenue / Pleasantview Baptist Church for over 55 years and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was also a talented hairdresser and worked many years at Monique Coiffures with her lifelong and dear friend Betty McGar.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Kelley; her parents; her sisters, Pauline Raley and Margaret Raley; her brother, George Donald (Doodle Bug) Brackeen; and her mother in law, Bonnie Byas Kelley Monroe.

Survivors: her children, Steven Kelley and wife Paige Helser, David Kelley and wife Marie, Kimberly Bullock and husband Wesley, and Kristi Berryhill and husband Jimbo; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; many special nieces and nephews.
