Roger Dale Noel, 71, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on November 19, 2024 after complications during a medical procedure.
Roger was born on September 7, 1953 in Titusvile, Pennsylvania to Hank Ivan Noel and Ottie Faye Davis. After Roger graduated from high school, he went on to serve in the United States Air Force for 16 years, working on B-52s and education & training on ejection seats for F-4s and F-16s. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He also taught subordinates, passing on his skills and expertise.
In 1973, Roger met his wife Un Suk in South Korea while on deployment. It was love at first sight for both of them when Roger walked into Un Suk's father's painting shop, and the rest was history. Roger and Un Suk went on to have two children, John and Diana.
Roger repented and believed in Christ in 1975. After his military service, he enrolled at Trinity Valley Baptist Seminary & College, later on becoming a professor and ultimately president of the institution. While working on his doctorate, he became a pastor and served faithfully for many years. His most recent church leadership position was at Cleburne Baptist Temple, where he served as pastor for 25 years. He deeply loved being a pastor, serving the Lord, and serving others with pastoral care. Even in the hospital during his last days, he never failed to share the Gospel with anyone who entered his room, and told his love story with Un Suk to anyone who would listen.
Roger was predeceased by his brothers James and Eddie. He is survived by his wife Un Suk, his son John, daughter Diana, granddaughter Reagan, niece Tonya, nephew Robert, great nephew Lukas, great niece Bailey, and step nieces Rhonda and Carla.
A celebration of life will be held at Foundation Baptist Church Euless on December 7 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family's GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses.
