ARLINGTON -- Ronnie Owens, 61, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
A kind, devoted and loving family man, Ronnie was born Oct. 2, 1946, in Ballinger. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1972 and served honorably during the Vietnam War. Afterward, Ronnie settled his family in Arlington and spent his career working in the aerospace industry. He was proud to have recently completed his BA from Dallas Baptist University. When not devoting time to his beloved family, Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors while camping, playing golf or tending to his pecan orchard in Canton. His sense of humor, love of life and family brought joy to all he came in contact with.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Owens, and his wife of 37 years, Vicki Owens.
Survivors: Wife, Susie Owens; daughter, Shauna Robinson and husband, Jim; son, Brian Owens and wife, Jennifer; mother, Neomia Owens; siblings, Glen Owens and wife, Kathy, Linda Buckner and husband, Ed, Bobby Owens and wife, Susan, and Jimmy Owens and wife, Marlena; grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Cal, Paige, Parker and Sofie; stepchildren, John Pickens and Heather Keppler and husband, Erich; and many other relatives and friends.
