Rosemarie (Rosie) Helen Frizzell, 86, returned home to the Lord on February 22nd, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waxahachie, TX.
Rosie was born to Theodore and Alma Frank on July 20th, 1937, and grew up in Houston and Spring, TX. After graduating from Houston's Lutheran High School in 1955 she worked for Shell Oil and married Jim Frizzell in 1960. The pair was happily married for 43 years. Even after her husband's death, Rosie remained an active member and volunteer in her church, Custer Road First United Methodist Church in Plano, TX.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents Theodore and Alma, sisters Gloria Thorne and Amy Helmcamp, and daughter Becky Sides.
She is survived by her son Mark Frizzell and his wife Jennifer, daughter Julie Overbeek and her husband Tom, daughter Mona Frizzell, son-in-law David Sides, and brother-in-law Clifford Helmcamp. Rosie also leaves behind several grandchildren: Alex Frizzell and his fiance Sydney, Annabeth Frizzell, Rylee Overbeek and his wife Morgan, Aleeah Overbeek, Brett Sides and his wife Taylor, Jennifer Wise and her husband Jereme, Terra Atwood and her husband Sean, and Shannon Sides. Her nieces and nephews include Corri Eaves and her husband Eric, Chad Helmcamp and his wife Rachelle, Leslie Cannon and her husband Brian, and Veronica Ozuna and her husband Johnny.
The service will take place on March 2nd, at 12:00 p.m., in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 310 Roaring Springs Drive, Desoto, TX. A visitation/viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service and burial at 3:00 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Rockwall, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia Society in honor of Rosie. Their love and gratitude go out to Reverend Gary Stephens with FUMC Desoto, Larry Collins Minister of Music and Worship at FUMC in Sulfur Springs, Amanda and Veronica Ozuna with Emerald Hills Funeral Home, and Resthaven Cemetery.
