Russell Jackson, 91, passed away on 9 September 2021 at Legacy Living a Memory Care Community Arlington. He was born on 27 August 1930 in Evarts, Kentucky to Sam and Mary (Carrol) Jackson. Russell grew up in Covington, Kentucky, enlisted in the military one month after turning 17 (with parental permission) and received his GED April 1969.
Russell and wife Eula attended Arlington Baptist university for 2 years.
Joined the Air Forced in September 1947 and retired after 21 years 7 months & 5 days. He was honorably discharged on 30 April 1969 with rank of Msgt.
Began work for Loral Vought system in May 1969 and retired in 1993 after 24 years.
Was involved in many churches; Arlington Baptist Church, New York Ave Baptist Church and helped start Tabernacle Baptist in Arlington.
Russell married Eula Lyons on 21 August 1954 after a five-year engagement because of his serving in Korea. They were happily married for 64 years.
Russell was preceded in death by his loving wife Eula (23 Jan 2018) and sons Randall C. Jackson and Ronnie L. Jackson. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Russell Jackson Jr.; grandchildren, Renee M. Hoover and husband Taylor; Russell Jackson III, Riley M. Jackson; Megan E. Moon and husband Nick, Ashlee R. Jackson, Kimberly Pruiett and husband Terry; great grandchildren, Jackson Hoover, Lucas Hoover, Dylan Hoover, Emrie Moon, Charlotte Pruiett, Penelope Pruiett and Harvey Pruiett; Brothers, Jess Jackson and wife (deceased) Patricia, James Jackson, sisters; Wanda Hammous and husband(deceased) Herbert, Frances Hunt and husband(deceased)Edward and JoAnn Robinson.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Legacy Living Memory Care of Arlington Baptist Church.
