BURLESON -- Ruth Jerrine Stutler, 85, passed away early Saturday morning, October 15, 2011.
Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel, 500 Sublett Road, Kennedale. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at the funeral home. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
Ruth was born on August 5, 1926 to William and Thelma Sheppard in Brady, Texas. She married James O. Stutler on September 27, 1942. During her lifetime she completed a Bachelors Degree from U.T. Arlington and a Master's Degree from North Texas University. She was a teacher at Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Texas for 10 years. Ruth loved children, and she loved to hold the babies. She will be missed but we know she is in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mom and Dad traveled the country with the United States Air Force for 23 years, even being stationed in Hawaii for a time. She was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Sheppard, one sister, Nina Stephens and her husband of 50 years, Major James O. Stutler, Ret.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Carol Sue Evans and husband, Blake, James Gary Stutler and wife, Carol Marie, Jonathan Sheppard Stutler and wife, Jana, and Carolyn Ruth Sherwood and husband, Leon. Ruth was "Grandma" to Michael, Jenifer, Scott, Chelsea, Jimmy, Brittanie, Ryan, Audrie, and Cody. She was a step-grandma to Heather, Stephanie and Charlie. She was "Ganny" to her great-grandchildren, all eleven of them.
