Salvador Ruiz passed peacefully to meet his Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Sunday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel, 500 Sublett Road, Kennedale.
Sal was born Jan. 28, 1947. He was raised in Laredo and lived in Fort Worth for 44 years. Salvador was adopted by Estella and Julio Ruiz at an early age. He considered them his mom and dad and loved them as well as his brothers and sisters, Julio, Demetrio, Vangie and Teresa.
He was a good and faithful husband to Pauline Salas Ruiz for 42 years. He was also the best father to Salvador and Stephen. He felt very blessed that they were good, upstanding sons, husbands and fathers.
He was particularly proud of his grandsons, Sal Jr., Samuel, Vincent and Sebastian.
Sal was the most giving and loving person. He was very close to his mother-in-law, Pauline Salas, and brother-in-law, Dennis Salas.
Salvador had a very big heart and made friends easily. He was an Air Force veteran during the Vietnam era. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Worth in 2005. He had an associate's degree from Tarrant County College.
