Scotty JL Shipman, 79, passed away on October 21, 2022 at Community Hospice in Burleson, Texas. Scotty was born on August 11, 1943 in Boonville, Mississippi to JL and Mary-Anne Shipman. Scotty grew up in McKinney, Texas. Scotty established his own business, Shipman’s Snack Services which has been in operation for 40 years, he was passionate about his work and his family.
Scotty married Ruby Lee on November 27, 1961 in Grand Prairie, Texas. They were happily married for over 60 years and created a beautiful life and family together.
Scotty’s hobbies included RC racing with both of his sons.
Scotty was preceded in death by his parents JL and Mary-Anne Shipman and his siblings, Shem, Gary and Johnny Shipman.
Scotty is survived by his spouse, Ruby Shipman of Burleson, Texas; sons and their significant others, Joel and Amanda, and Dewayne and Tisha Shipman, both of Burleson, Texas; brothers, Barry Shipman and Terry Shipman; grandchildren, Aaron, Matthew, Zachary, Hayden, Shelby and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Freddie; and multiple nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at Emerald Hills Memorial Park (500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060) at 2PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 12:00PM-2:00PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
