Shirley Boroson

May 16, 1946 — February 20, 2020

Arlington

Shirley Boroson, 73, passed away unexpectantly on February 20, 2020 at Arlington Memorial Hospital.  Her memorial service will be held Saturday, February 29th at 10:30AM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, in Kennedale, Texas.

Shirley was born on May 16, 1946 in Elmhurst, Illinois.  She resided in Illinois until she graduated high school and then moved to her dream location, Huntington Beach, California.  There she met her first husband, Dale and had her first son, Scott, in 1972.  She later moved to Texas for a new start, in 1982, where she met her 2nd husband, David and a few years later, Shirley had her second son, Matthew.  Unfortunately, God called Matthew home shortly after his birth.  Their family of three grieved for some time and then received wonderful news that they could adopt a baby boy.  Ryan, Shirley's third son, joined them in September 1985, and he became the focus of her life.  Although Shirley tragically lost her son Scott, in 2013, that was not before he had provided her with her three precious grandchildren (Tayler, in 1994, Macey, in 2005, and Jackson, in 2008).

For many years Shirley watched kids in her home, with an at home daycare but also as a favor for many in need.

Shirley's life was surrounded with family, friends and doing things she enjoyed most, such as cooking, baking, cross-stitch, and watching baseball.  Shirley always had a dog in her life, and they were always her 'baby'.  She loved and lived for every moment she was able to dedicate to her children and grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life.

At the age of 50, Shirley, ventured back into the workplace outside the home; initially continuing with her desire to help children, by working in numerous day care facilities, and culminating with employment at Vandergriff Chevrolet for the last 15 years of her life. During this time, Shirley established great friendships that would last until her passing day.

Shirley was a kind, loving and giving woman, who opened her heart and her home to many children over her lifetime.  She is survived by her loving son Ryan, grandchildren Tayler, Macey, and Jackson, her former husband David, former daughter-in-laws Emily and Ashley, sisters Laura and Marie, brother Mark, and all her amazing friends. She will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to know her.
