Spc Matthew Meadows

Matthew John Meadows, 24, passed away on September 12, 2021 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was born on May 29, 1997 in Arlington, TX to David and Rhonda Meadows.

Matt grew up in Arlington, TX. He graduated from Arlington High School in 2015. Growing up, Matt was a member of Boy Scouts Troop #421 where he attended Philmont.  At AHS, Matt played baseball and was a member of the jazz band where he played the saxophone.  After high school, Matt joined the Army in 2019 and served for 2 years. He graduated US Army Airborne School in Fort Benning, Georgia in 2020 as a Paratrooper.  Followed by specialty training in Fort Lee, Virginia where he graduated as a Parachute Rigger (92R) and joined the 82nd Airborne in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Some of his favorite hobbies included running the sound at the Farr Best Theater with his dad, playing his guitar, sharing his love of music, fishing, enjoying the beach, volleyball, disc golf and spending time with animals (especially Mini).

He had a passion for serving others and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he met.

Matt was preceded in death by his dad and best friend, David Meadows.

He is survived by his momma, Rhonda Meadows of Arlington and grandpa Charles Morales of Mansfield; his brother Nathan Meadows, his wife Michelle, niece Lilly, and nephew Laken; and his brother Michael Meadows and nephew Wyatt.

His spiritual dad and mom, Arthur and Rikki Rodriguez, and siblings Annalecia, Antonio, and Arius.

By the love of his life, Catherine Cavallo.  They planned to marry in May of 2022 on Mayport beach in Jacksonville, Florida by Arthur Rodriguez.

By his aunts and uncles Janice Meadows, Tonya and Pat Edward, Carla Morales, and Karyn Couch, and cousins Joy, Weston, Clinton, Mandolin, Bailey, Jessica, Bryce, Nick, and Jenny.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The LOT Downtown, 110 S Main St, Mansfield, TX 76063 at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 25, 2021

Flowers, blue and sunflowers, encouraged in honor of his wedding theme with Catherine, can be delivered to Emerald Hills Funeral Home at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX 76060 or memorial donations be made to the ministry that was dearest to Matt’s heart, where he was a mentor and leader for many, United House Ministry, www.unitedhouse.org. Condolences may be left on the online guest book.
