ARLINGTON -- Stacey Dawn Walvoord, 37, of Arlington went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, after succumbing to a four-year battle with leptomeningeal carcinoma following a 2011 diagnosis.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Oaks Baptist Church, Dr. Dan Curry officiating. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.

Stacey was born in Waukegan, Ill., on Nov. 30, 1976, to the Rev. Willard and Cherri Hill, and the sister of Steven J. Hill. Stacey moved to Texas in 1980 when her father began his studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. After a brief stint in Memphis, Texas, Stacey and her family moved to Wharton, where she attended third grade through high school, graduating in 1995. While in high school, Stacey found a love of politics and was selected to participate in Girls State. Stacey also knew at an early age that she wanted to be a lawyer, and sought an internship with a local lawyer, Larry Wadler, during her senior year of high school. Stacey attended Wharton County Junior College during the summer following her senior year and attended Baylor University in the fall of 1995, ultimately obtaining a B.A. in political science with a minor in history in June 1998. Stacey then went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University, School of Law, in Fort Worth (now Texas A&M University School of Law) in 1998 where she received her juris doctorate in May 2001. While at Baylor University, Stacey met her husband, David, and they were married Jan. 1, 2000 (Y2K), in Arlington at Woods Chapel Baptist Church and honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico.
Stacey took and passed the bar exam in 2001. She then went on to work in January 2002 for the law office of John K. Vaughan, Attorney at Law. In November 2007, Stacey was offered a partnership at Vaughan, Ramsey, Barbera & Walvoord, L.L.P., where she shortly thereafter became the managing partner. In January 2010 she continued on as the managing partner for Vaughan, Ramsey and Walvoord.
Stacey wrote several briefs and argued a number of cases before the Courts of Appeals, she was an integral part of the day-to-day functions, managing both cases, clients and staff during her time at the firm.
Stacey was also involved at her church, South Oaks Baptist Church in Arlington, where her family attended regularly. She helped in the nursery, with the children's choir, and enjoyed participating in the adult choir. Stacey enjoyed meeting people, helping where she could, and sharing the love of God through her actions and deeds.
Stacey was preceded in death by her mother, Cherri Hill, March 7, 2014; and her grandfather, Clarence Hill, in March 2010.
Survivors: Husband, David; son, Adam; father, Willard Hill; brother, Steven Hill and wife, Stephanie, and their children, James, Michael, Christopher and Abigail; grandparents, L.D. and Mickey Patrick and Betty Hill; uncles and aunts, Mike and Nancy Patrick, Joyce and Gil Bai, John and Susan Hill, Donna Hill; cousins, Joanna and Richie McDonald, Julie and Dan Daniels, John and Michelle Bristle, Jason Bristle, Jason Patrick, Victoria and Michael Clossen, Jonathan Hill, Jennifer Maki, Becca and Wesley Clossen. Stacey is also survived by her in-laws, retired Judge Alvin F. and Dolores Walvoord, Kirk and Leanna Bond, and their children, Annalise and Sarah Kate Bond.
