Terry Lynn Sikes

October 22, 1948 — February 17, 2025

Joshua, Texas

Early in the morning on February 17, 2025, Terry Lynn Sikes, passed peacefully from this earthly life into the presence of the Lord. Terry was born on October 22, 1948, to E. R. Sikes, Jr. and Frances Louise Sikes Stone, in Pampa, Texas.

Terry grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma. Although he dropped out of school in the 7th grade, Terry knew he needed to further his education when he felt called to the ministry. After successfully obtaining his GED, he went on to study at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Central Bible College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Wesleyan University with high honors. Terry later attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated with high honors from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. He faithfully and passionately continued to study the Bible the rest of his life.

As a teenager, Terry’s call to ministry commenced to be fulfilled. Not only was he invited by pastors to preach in their churches, he also had an amazing voice and he traveled with a gospel music trio named The Envoys during the early years of his ministry.

While attending Central Bible College in the spring of 1972, Terry met his wife, Belinda Stipp, and they were married on October 21, 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, by Pastor Ira Stanphill. During their more than 52 years of marriage, Terry served as youth pastor, associate pastor and senior pastor in churches in Texas, Florida, Massachusetts and Kentucky.

Terry loved serving the Lord and pastoring His people and he loved spending time with his family. His son, Jonathan, was his pride and joy. He especially enjoyed family vacations jeeping in the Rocky Mountains and relaxing on the beach.

Terry is preceded in death by his father, E. R. Sikes, Jr., and his mother, Frances Louise Sikes Stone.

Terry is survived by his wife, Belinda, of Joshua, Texas; his son, Jonathan, of Buda, Texas; and a host of family and friends.
